The Outpost
African Inspired Safaris – Inspired to take you there
ABOUT
The Outpost
Why This
Inspires Us
- Location, location, location – amazing! The Outpost is located in a magnificent setting with views that are just breath taking!
- We love the fact that all spaces open up – no walls on 2 sides – giving you the feeling that your space is actually outside!
- The Riverview spaces we highly recommend as you can enjoy a bath or relax in the space – with views as far as you can see!
- The public spaces of the lodge are gorgeous, open and contemporary and very comfortable.
- The Northern “untouched” Kruger area is gorgeous for its topography and biodiversity of birds, insects, plants & trees. This birders paradise (we are huge in birding) has the highest concentration of birds in the Kruger – mind blowing!
- Each game drive introduced concentrates on the vast & remote wilderness (and not only the game!) which in fact is the most beautiful and scenically diverse terrain of the region
- Highlighted drives includes Mopane woodlands, Fever Tree forests, Acacia thickets, largest and oldest Baobab specimens (dating back 1400 years), the Lanner (rocks dating back 250 million year) and Mutale gorges – and of course you can’t forget crooks corner which is the confluence of Zimbabwe and Mozambique, Southern Africa & 2 rivers!
- The abundant wildlife also includes the less common species (elephant shrew, Pel’s Fishing Owl, Tropical Boubou, Racket Tail Roller, Bohm’s Spinetail, Arnot’s Chat and many more) not evident in the southern and central regions of the park.

Lodge
Information
Pafuri is arguably one of the most scenically beautiful and diverse wilderness areas in the Kruger National Park. This 26,500ha concession, belonging to the Makuleke people, boasts nearly 80% of the Kruger Park’s biodiversity. Immerse yourself in the beauty, splendour and stillness and unwind with a luxurious spa treatment in the privacy of your room.
Suites
The Outpost’s awarded architecture accommodates 24 guests in 12 stand-alone luxury spaces cantilevered over the Luvuvhu river valley – connected to the central lodge area by 500 metres of raised wooden walkways. Enjoy 180˚ views of the African wilderness and fall asleep to the open-air sounds of the African night.
The private, free standing spaces are inter-connected to each other and the Contemporary architecture makes use of concrete and steel with state-of the-art retractable, remote-controlled screens offering 180º of uninterrupted views.
Dining
Guests can enjoy bush dinners and private courtyard dinners as well.
Safari
Game drives leave at first thing in the morning and late afternoons. For the adventurous, you can experience the wilderness on a guided walking safari.
