Makalali Private Game Reserve is a 26,000-hectare reserve in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The reserve is home to the Big Five, as well as giraffes, zebras, spotted and brown hyena, leopards and the smaller mammal species, including the endangered ground hornbill, vulture and raptor species. It is also rich in birdlife, with over 300 species recorded. The reserve is traversed by the Makhutswi River and other smaller streams, which support diverse ecosystems and provide opportunities for riverine game viewing.
