Within the wooded slopes of the eastern part of the Kariega Game Reserve is where you’ll find the Kariega Main Lodge.
Main Lodge offers families, friends and couples a relaxed and friendly environment to enjoy the African bush.

The lodge has been expertly integrated with the surrounding bush to create a natural environment where guests can enjoy traditional meals in the restaurant or boma, a drink at the bar or a swim in the pool.

Suites

All the 24 log chalets are air conditioned, with en-suite bedrooms, and large private viewing decks. Each has a spacious lounge and living area which is great for socialising before retreating to the privacy and comfort of your bedroom.

The chalets are connected to the main lodge by a walkway that winds through the trees.
Each has a twin bedroom as well as a double bedroom, both with an en suite bathroom. The lounge is furnished with couches and armchairs.

Five of the chalets include private pools in addition to having a phone, safes, a tea and coffee station, and a hairdryer. A sizable private viewing platform that offers breathtaking views of the Kariega river valley is available to visitors.

Dining

All meals are included when you stay at Kariega Main Lodge. With breakfast, lunch and dinner which is served either in the boma or in the restaurant.

If you are fortunate, you may witness the lion hunting or feeding, or even the heartwarming social interactions of an elephant herd.

Apart from lions and elephants, the game reserve is home to the other three members of the Big 5 – rhino, buffalo and leopard. Other species abound such as hippo, hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, eland, kudu, waterbuck and a variety of other antelope, as well as a myriad of bird species including the nesting crowned eagle, martial and fish eagles.
