Kwandwe Great Fish River Lodge

Great Fish River Lodge is perched on the tranquil and timeless emerald green banks of its eponymous river and was built to highlight the expansive surroundings.

The best place to observe beautiful kudu strolling down to the river for a drink, or to take in an African sunset on one of the many spacious viewing decks that provide for an immersive experience in nature.

Suites

Great Fish River Lodge is all about peace and seclusion and has a classic-contemporary decor with understated elegance and natural tones. There are nine large suites with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open up to a continuous wilderness.

The nine luxurious suites have air conditioning and overhead fans. The contemporary ensuite bathrooms, complete with a deep plunge bath and both indoor and outdoor showers, provide unparalleled views of the surrounding area through their panoramic windows.

Folding doors allow you to see unobstructed views of the forest, and a large thatched veranda and a private plunge pool with a terrace are additional highlights of each suite.

Dining

Returning from your morning game drive, guests are treated to a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge, which offers a selection of hot breakfast dishes and fruit and cheese plates. Eggs, oats, waffles, and a variety of additional alternatives are available.

If guests prefer, they may walk off their breakfast on a little stroll close to the lodge with the ranger, who will offer his knowledge of the local flora and fauna, and arrive back at the lodge just in time for lunch.

In the evening when you get back to the lodge, you will sit down to a delicious dinner in the dining room or in a boma in front of a roaring fire.

Fill your days with the thrill of intimate wildlife encounters and authentic experiences and your evenings with surprise moments and unforgettable dinners.

A simple rap on the door wakes guests to the wonders of a new day as dawn breaks over the African bush. Over fragrant tea or coffee and early-morning biscuits or rusks, the ranger talks about the anticipated sightings. Join a ranger and tracker team as they set out in an open 4×4 safari vehicle in an effort to locate favourite wildlife.

From late afternoon until after dark, when spotlights are used to provide a glimpse into the nocturnal bush life. Look for the uncommon porcupine, aardwolf, or aardvark. As the sun gradually sets below the horizon, take pleasure in sundowners in a beautiful setting.
