Jaci’s Tree Lodge is the realisation of Jan’s dream – an elevated lodge that appears to float above the ground… Jaci’s Lodges founder and owner Jan van Heteren, was profoundly inspired by the Okavango Delta’s characteristically intimate, secluded, luxury camps that seem to grow organically from the earth.

Each suite is built to sit high on stilts and with a focus on ecological construction, ensuring they blend seamlessly into their environment.

The Main Lodge at Jaci’s Tree Lodge, hidden in the riverine forest along the banks of the Marico River, and recently refurbished, provides a cool retreat from the heat of African summer days and a cosy fireside sanctuary during chilly winter months. With both indoor and outdoor dining spaces as well as open-plan lounge and bar areas, the Main Lodge sets the tone for an authentic, inspired safari experience.

Tlou Deck is arguably the best sundowner and unique safari dining spot at Jaci’s Tree Lodge, epitomising all the “golden hour” beauty and epic bushveld vistas that Madikwe is famous for. The impressively elevated structure is located directly adjacent to our watering hole, affording guests the opportunity to observe the daily comings and goings of a variety of animals that frequent the area. Fully equipped with wifi, Tlou Deck also happens to be the best office in Africa!

Suites

The 8 Treehouse Suites blend effortlessly into the overarching canopy of lush foliage, making for fantastic birdwatching in a peaceful, natural environment.
The Treehouse Suites luxuriously accommodate guests in custom built stilled treehouse-style structures. Connected by elevated walkways, they each boast magnificent views into the surrounding riverine forest, as well as glimpses across the famous Marico River.

Naledi Treehouse offers Jaci’s Tree Lodge guests the ultimate safari sleep-out under the stars, without even having to leave camp. Naledi – meaning Star in Tswana – is kitted out with a canopied King-size bed, private KolKol wood-fired hot tub, Enviroloo, outdoor shower and boasts exceptional watering hole views.
This romantic sleep-out experience, enjoyed under starlight and the cover of an impressive Tamboti Tree, is certainly worthy of a top spot on every safari-lover’s bucket list!

Dining

Enjoy the delicious, freshly cooked meals that Jaci’s chefs are renowned for at mealtimes. Dinners are typically served around in the outdoor Boma area beneath the starry night skies, weather allowing, since Jaci’s Tree Lodge promotes fireplace starlit eating as frequently as feasible. The open-plan kitchen serves brunches and high teas in the indoor dining area.

Safari

There are plenty of fascinating possibilities to explore Madikwe Game Reserve’s rich biodiversity whilst staying at Jaci’s Tree Lodge. These include twice-daily wildlife drives, astronomy-focused night drives, and guided walking tours with the guidance of the Lodge’s knowledgeable rangers.
